The Harbour Garden Cafe enjoys some of the best views from the North Kent coast. Situated on the South quay of Whitstable harbour and at the hub of the lively & popular seaside town. This quirky and unique alfresco cafe opened in 2007 and is extremely popular with locals and visitors alike.
It is the only open air venue in Whitstable where at most weekends, you can listen to up and coming bands and other musicians. We are open daily during daylight hours. Check out our live music schedule. The schedule is subject to last minute changes.
You are guaranteed to receive a warm & friendly welcome. A selection of delicious home-made dishes are available to go with a wide selection of wines & beers. These are styled perfectly to accompany the thoughtful selection of home prepared dishes made with locally sourced produce, ranging from meat & fish to specially prepared seafood sharing platters. To add to the enjoyment, a range of complimentary weekend live musical entertainment from folk through to blues & jazz is offered for all ages. We specialise in catering for all the family.
Special evenings are arranged every Saturday throughout the summer where we offer a delicious 2 course dinner, accompanied by jugs of sangria or other choice of refreshment. The famous Whitstable sunsets can be enjoyed from the quayside decking whilst savouring the laid back stylish entertainment.
The cafe is open every day, for light snacks, tea, coffee, freshly made cakes & sandwiches, ice cream sundaes or main lunches and including arguably, the best selection of breakfast choices around to start your day.

For those lucky enough to be sailing around the Thames Estuary for the day on board the Greta Thames Sailing Barge, we can arrange catering for your party of up to 12 persons. The Greta is moored right next to the Harbour Garden Cafe, so pop in before or after you sail (Greta Skipper Steve has been known to stay out sailing around the Thames Estuary for up to 6 hours so be sure to take ample supplies of food and cold drinks!
